I'm installing a new nut on an offshore 335 copy, and the shelf/end of the fret board where the nut sits is not very square. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to square this up?

I use StewMac's smallest pillar file, or one of several old Grobet needle files to clean up all the surfaces that are un-square. Remove a little at a time, and check your progress often. We can't put it back on if we file it off.

I also use files but sometimes I will also use a small chisel. Like Chris said, be careful and go slow, check the fit often.
